Hotel Tango Takes Three Awards at 2015 New York International Spirits Competition
Artisan Distillery – First Service Disabled Combat Veteran Owned Distillery in the State of Indiana and Country – Based In Indianapolis, Indiana
Indianapolis based Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery, the first service disabled combat veteran owned distillery in the state and country, takes a silver medal for their Romeo Rum, a bronze medal for their Golf Gin, and won Indiana Distillery of the Year 2015 at the 2015 New York International Spirits Competition.
The New York International Spirits Competition was held in October to taste, evaluate, and judge almost 500 of the world’s best-distilled spirits. Over 35 countries submitted their brands to be critiqued by a hand-selected panel of A-List and key trade only judges – buyers, retail storeowners, restaurant/bar proprietors, distributors, and importers — those that have the unique ability to make a direct impact on sales.
“This is a huge honor,” said Brian Willsey, co-founder of Hotel Tango. “Our industry is competitive, and so is our product. There was a double-digit increase in submissions from last year and we are proud of what we have achieved.
Submissions were rated on a set of criteria including appearance, aroma, taste, mouth-feel and finish. Upon completion of the tastings, panelists conferred and decided which samples were award worthy.
